I know it's after the end date.. but here's a story

As a child I had always loved animals. I had always wanted to be a vet. Eventually, I was able to go to college to become one. I am in my last year of study and our school has funded a trip to Africa. We will be volunteers to help the native people who protect the beautiful unique animals that live in Africa. I wonder how can animals that every child knows, be so close to extinction? Almost every child dreams of going on an African Safari. My Safari will be different. I will be on a journey to save. I will not be photographing the animals, trying to capture memories. No, I will be capturing animals trying to save lives. Elephants and rhino's, leopards and the graceful cheetah, animals everyone knows and yet they are hunted so. Then there are the vultures and cranes, reed-buck and aardvarks, and even the African wild dog, all will be lost if we do not start taking more care. Yes, I will be going on safari, but a safari of a far more important sort. I want to save animals so my children and their children's children can take cameras and make memories on their own African safaris.

I have been on my safari. I did not know the people there suffered so. There is so much poverty. I now know why some people hunt such beautiful creatures. They are desperate. How can a father see his child starve? The animals sell for so much money both alive and when dead, that the people here gain so much by killing them. The animals suffer too. So many animals have died and for so little. thousands of pounds that to the poor are closer to millions. There is so much war, and the evil of some people is astounding.

It all is really life and death. The only way to save the animals, is to first save the people. When they have hope and bright futures for their children to live, and have good lives, maybe they too can dream of a future where their children can enjoy the beauty of the animals.

As we rode in our Toyota I had no hope. No hope we would get to Africa whatsoever. It was so many miles away and we were only a mile away from our house. There was no way we would make it in time for the Buza Parade.

The Buza Parade is where all the kings and queens and princesses are on their big floats. I always loved in because we would always meet the princesses. It was so cool.

But matter of factly we would never get there. We would only get to a place I never imagined in my dreams. It was called the African Safari.

"What!?" I exclaimed once I found out where we landed. "No no no no. I wanted to go to the parade not an Safari!"

"Chill out Maria. Its only for a few days. Soon we will get our truck back and everything will be fine," Sara cooned.

"No! Nothing will be fine or even close!" I yelled.

The group just sighed. I was a girly girl and they knew that. So they think I would be okay in the wild? Then they are completely and utterly insane.

So the few days went by and then I had the most exciting news. The truck was found on the cross side road from the parade. I ran to the truck but something caught my eye. The truck wasnt there! Suddenly, A person put a bag over my head and led me off into the morning light and into a cave.

I was terrified. Nothing could ever be so vain. I was furious also. Who were they to kidnap me. I was not useful. Finally I heard some voices out of the cave. The group!

As quick as a flash they killed the two men. I was overjoyyed.

"You killed them! Thankyou!" I said running to Sara and the group.

"No problem little sister! Now then. We have the truck. So lets go home!" Sara said hugging me.

"Definetly!" I said. I was exhausted and so were the group.

So that daytime we rode back home. Oh how I miss it. Home

The End! :)

Very awesome.  You need to find a new word for wild but otherwise very well done.
