Not a Challenge: A Polite Request

0 votes

A number of challenges have been posted on this site recently, with a date for submission of the 15th of April. The 15th has come and gone, and nothing has been resolved.

I appreciate that recently two regular contributors have passed, and the passing of a friend or loved one is an emotional time. My sympathy goes out to those who knew EmyO and Giraffe.

This is a creative writing forum, and the rules surrounding submissions, while never really strictly adhered to, do appear to have been completely disregarded. Is it possible for those who submitted the challenge to withdraw or delete their entries? Are the Mods able to close the posts?

Please feel free to respond directly to me if you feel unwilling to have your replies on view for all and sundry. My email address (which is available on my profile anyway) is: morshy@hotmail.com

Thanks

I'm sorry. I should have read the entire thing when entering the challenges. I'll withdraw/delete any I posted. =) And though I never did knew EmyO or Giraffe, they have my prayers to rest in peace. ^~^
Morshy:  First, it's great to see you again!  If there is a specific challenge that you feel should be "deleted", I would be happy to take a look at it.  I can "hide" the challenge if it is inappropriate.  I could also select a "winner" if need be, but would prefer for the person who set up the challenge to do so.  More specifics please...
The problems of not closing off Challanges is again happening, now for May! Very sad as it devalues the site and the work of others.

morshy, I honestly don't really take a look at many other challenges besides the original TW challenge, which I'm currently torchbearer of.  I had originally set the date for April 15 to close the challenge, but because of the way spirits kind of dropped and not many people were writing, I extended it a week.  I am closing that challenge this Friday... :)

I agree with you though... thanks for posting... :)

It has been a time of reflection, not of "business as usual."  and I kind of needed to fall back to Indian-time.   I think perhaps others felt the same.

morshy, my Generational Challenge was due to be judged on April 15.  EmyO died soon after she responded to it,    Six others responded too.  Your own response was the last.

I thought EmyO made the best response, but did not know how to award her because of your rules about the winner becoming "torchbearer."  Yet I did not want to pass over her entry.  I was waiting until I felt  sure what to do.
