Marius has posted on thinkdraw that Giraffe has passed away:

"Sad News

Hi folks, just letting you all know that TD has lost one of its more colorful and funny members, giraffe.

On April 2, I received the following email from his daughter: “I apologize for the group email. I found your addresses in my dad's contacts. Sadly, I'm writing to let you know that he passed away on March 20.”

Giraffe’s real name was Ron Metzger. His daughter’s name is Emelia. I am going to give her the link to this thread so she can check in should folks wish to leave condolences.

The memorial is this Saturday, April 9th, at the Mercury Café in Denver from 11-2."

Condolences for his family; he will be missed

that is so sad. how old was he? Giraffe was nice. He commented me and i really liked him.
Giraffe was 61.  He was very nice;  thank you for saying so.  I have been peeking around this site and noticed that another one passed away (Emyo) a few days ago.  How very very sad.  I'm glad he had this little community and yet another creative outlet.  He was very busy writing, composing, creating...  He was somewhat of a genius, if I do say so, and I'm heartbroken not to learn more from him...  Daughter Giraffe
Emelia, I haven't been around here for a while, but I knew your dad from TD and from here. Him and I had our differences, but he was a man I respected greatly as an artist and writer. He had a passion for his work. He thought outside the box. He always had a kind word to say, a joke, and a pat on the back for everyone. The world needs more people like him, and he will be missed. My condolences to you and your family.

Giraffe loved a good fight, gave as good as he got.  He was funny and had a different take on life that we should admire.  I will miss him...
Wow, I have been away from this site a long long time and I see I've missed a lot. I will truly miss both Giraffe and EmyO. They were both truly talented and I'm glad to have had a chance to meet them (I guess I'm being generous with the word "meet", but when you get to see the results of someone's creativity, I think you do get to know them quite a bit). I was truly surprised at seeing Giraffe's age. He truly had a young spirit, because I was sure he was in his thirties. He made me laugh, he made me think, and that is something I'll never forget. Goodbye, Giraffe, hope you're in a better place now.
